Jun-2010 Great Amwell Scout Group celebrates its half century
06-Feb-10 Our Beaver "Bears" WIN the District Handicraft Competition, again
05-Jan-10 Scouts 3rd in District Cooking Competition. Well Done
08-Nov-09 Scout Troop return to St John's Church, Amwell for their Armistice Day Service and wreath laying ceremony (see History page).
01-Nov-09 This website celebrates its 10th Anniversary in November. My thanks go out to all visitors for spending time browsing through the various pages and for providing quality feedback. To all those individuals who have supported this site by providing information and encouragement. Enabling this successful site to achieve an impressive milestone.

11-Sept-09 Scout HQ Gets Tangoed
The inside walls of the HQ got tangoed in trials of a new colour scheme. Various colours including tango orange, were trialled in an attempt to find a colour, best suited to the rigours and demands of a continuously utilized facility.

28-Aug-08 Scouts camping in Lochearnhead  Scotland.
05-Jul-08 Cubs and Beavers win best overall entry in Ware Carnival 2008. Plus the Best Walking Float
12-Jul-08 Scout Raft Race
One of our two team achieved 2nd place in this year's Scout raft race.

Congratulations to 2nd Ware who have won the event for the 8th time in session.

One Scout team achieved 6th place in this year's District Swimming Gala.
Well done.

06-Jun-08 Scouts Welcome Founder Member
Scouts welcome two founder membersFounder Members of Great Amwell Sea Scout Group when they attended last Friday meeting as guests. Appropriately the evening had a Sea Scouting theme, with knots, lashings and raft building exercises Both gentleman joined the Sea Scouts when the group was first formed in 1941.

The existing colony meeting on Tuesday evenings was renamed Bears following a parent naming poll

13-Jan-08 New Headquarters Update
The official opening of our new Scout HQ took place on the 13th January 2008  .
30-Sep-07 Progress of New Headquarters
The new HQ is in the final stages of being fitted out. All electrics and heating radiators are in place. Kitchen and Toilets almost complete. Not long to wait till the Grand Opening Ceremony.

The Scouts have put up a marquee as temporary accommodation for Scout meetings, until the new Hut is finished

06-Sep-07 Progress of New Headquarters
The new HQ is progressing well, with work on fitting roof tiles well underway. Inside the building, conduit and wiring progressing well.

New Headquarters
Great Amwell Scout Group is pleased to announce that after a lot of hard work we now have the funds in place to start building our new headquarters.  Work will commence on 25th June, with completion during the first part of the autumn term.

District Cooking Competition
Our four young chefs (Robert, Joseph, Louis Jack & Jonathan) serve up a meal to remember and achieve 3rd place in the District Cooking Competition
